Cornerstone Church of God “Warriors for Christ” Cornerstone Church is now offering self-defense classes in the style of So Go Goshin-Do (a combined art for self-defense). Sempi Doug Eash has received approval from Kyoshi Will Marvin to instruct. These classes are endorsed by the WKDA (water karate defense arts). Order of class - Instruction/Stretching (devotion and prayer time included)
- Kata/Forms (technique)
- Bonkai/Application (why we use certain tecniques)
- Shadowboxing (light sparring)
- Grappling (Ju Jitsu, Akido)
Goals - To offer a place where one can learn self-defense in a Christ-centered environment.
- To teach teamwork and unity
- To promote structure and discipline for everyone.
- To create an atmosphere of learning that carries over into the home where families can have healthy, productive interaction as they set and obtain goals together.
Vision - To reach out to all ages with a common goal of exercise, self-defense, discipline, family togetherness, and Christ. Our hopes are to extend an open invitation to the unchurched and allow them to interact with our Cornerstone family and build long lasting relationships. Through the martial arts program we will establish a ministry that is an outreach in our community, focusing on Christ, prayer and salvation. Through fun activities that challenge our mind and body, we will become modern day apostles with a slightly different approach. Ultimately, we will be known as the WFC – Warriors For Christ.
Class times - 7pm – 9pm Thursdays (Cornerstone Family Life Center)
- 10:30 – 12:30 Saturdays (Cornerstone Family Life Center)
Fees - $5/person per class or
- $20/person per month
